Dennis Nartey Shares His Journey to Becoming a Chartered Accountant While in Level 300

Dennis completed all 14 ICAG papers in exactly one year while still in Level 300 at the University of Ghana, where he’s studying Banking and Finance. Alongside this, he remained fully committed to his university coursework, dedicated at least 15 hours each week to the Risk Analyst track in the GearUp Analysts Program (GAP), and served in student leadership as part of the Finance Committee of the University of Ghana Business House Junior Common Room (UGBHJCR).  We celebrate his determination, grit, and faith that keep him going even when it gets tough.

When Dennis started this journey in Level 200, he didn’t think he’d be done with all 14 papers in just one year. But what followed was a mix of intense challenges and unexpected breakthroughs — and through it all, he never let go of his faith.

There’s one day he’ll never forget: March 4th, 2025.

That day, Dennis wrote three tough exams back-to-back. He started the morning with Management Accounting, followed by a university exam in Financial Reporting, then wrapped up with Advanced Audit and Assurance later that afternoon. It was a tough call. Some tutors even advised him to postpone one of the papers. But Dennis made up his mind that March would be his final exam sitting. He passed all his papers and ended the CA journey right there in Level 300.

This wasn’t Dennis’s first experience doing the “impossible.” Back in SHS 1 at St. Peter’s, he wrote the WASSCE Private Candidate exams just three months into school — and scored the results that got him into his dream program at the University of Ghana Business School. That same boldness and drive have stayed with him. From balancing his role as a student leader to staying committed to GAP training, university classes, and a full CA journey, Dennis has proven time and time again that limits are meant to be challenged.
