In July 2025, while still in her final year at the University of Cape Coast, Puumaya Bawa pulled off what many accountants spend years working toward — she passed every single paper of the Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.

The most striking part of her story is the timeline: she did it all in less than a year, finishing the exams in just three sittings. That kind of focus takes more than just intelligence. It’s discipline, sacrifice, and an unshakable faith that turned her bold ambition into reality.

Breaking Convention: Three Sittings, One Goal
From the start, Puumaya knew she did not want to follow the traditional, drawn-out route to qualification. While balancing her university studies and her role as a GearUp Analyst, she set herself an ambitious plan: master the syllabus and clear every paper in three back-to-back sittings.

That meant sacrifice. Her study space became her second home. Every lecture, every assignment, every exam prep session was part of a carefully balanced routine. What might have felt like crushing pressure to others became fuel for her. It sharpened her focus and gave her the drive to keep pushing until the very end.

The Heart of Her Success: Faith and Discipline
Discipline, for Puumaya was not restriction but freedom to succeed. This is what allowed her to wake up each day with clarity, to study when others were resting, and to hold on when the weight of it all felt heavy. Her guiding question was simple: How can I do this better, faster, and in my own way?

But what truly anchored her was faith. She believes it was Allah who gave meaning to her efforts, strength in her weak moments, and gratitude in her wins. 

Puumaya’s story is about rewriting the limits of what’s possible. She showed that with focus, curiosity, faith, and hard work, you can defy timelines and redefine the narrative of success.

Her journey is proof that the “impossible” is often just waiting for someone bold enough to attempt it.
